Athlete Activist Spotlight: Jackie Robinson

When we talk about Jackie Robinson, we often stop at “the first.”

But he was chosen for more than his talent. He was a four-sport athlete, a disciplined leader, and someone who understood the weight of history he was stepping into.

Robinson endured hostility not because he lacked fire, but because he knew progress required sacrifice. His legacy reminds us that change in sport has never been accidental. It has always been carried by people willing to bear the cost so others wouldn’t have to.
